Our goal is to help you have a companion/gun dog you can be proud of. We train 5-6 days a week in a variety of settings to expose your dog to as many different looks as possible. Our training program is a systematic, building block approach to teaching concepts. We teach concepts in the yard and then carry those concepts to the field. We encourage owners to come and train with their dog as often as they like, and are more than willing to have potential customers come by, visit and watch a day of training.

Fees start at $450 per month.

Basic Gun Dog/Hunt Test Training
This stage of training will set the foundation for a solid working dog. We will introduce the pup to gunfire, birds, water, boats, cover, decoys, and ATV’s. We will teach the mechanics of a basic retrieve, from beginning steadiness to delivery to hand. We will complete Force Fetch and Collar Conditioning at this level. The pup will also be socialized with other dogs and people. Once a dog has completed its basic training, it will reliably mark downed birds and deliver to hand. The dog will have the ability to pass HRC Started Tests.

Intermediate Gun Dog/Hunt Test Training
This is where we develop a well rounded hunting dog. Your dog will be able to run double marks on land and water, as well as straight forward triples. Your dog will be able to run blinds in the 100 yard range. The dog will stop on a whistle and take casts. It will be steady and calm in the blind. At this level, you dog will have the skills to pass HRC Seasoned Tests.

Advanced Gun Dog/Hunt Test Training
This is for clients who have long term goals. This is where we teach advanced concepts such as poison birds, multiple marks, multiple factors/concepts, etc. This is a dog that can run HRC Finished Tests and higher. This stage of development may take a year or more to complete.

Private Training Sessions
Private one on one training sessions or groups up the 4 dog/handler teams is available for an hourly rate. This allows you the opportunity to work through particular trouble spots, improve your handling skills or learn about training set ups. One on one sessions can be scheduled Monday-Saturday, call or e-mail for more information. (One on one sessions minimum one hour/groups minimum 2 hours)

Obedience Training
This is the foundation of all further training. Your dog will learn its 5 basic commands (Sit, Heel, Here, Kennel and No). This is a one month program and most of the work is done on lead or check cord. Your dog will have a foundation in place to allow you to formalize these commands off lead. We will be happy to do a collar conditioning program for any dog in the obedience program.

Puppy Head Start
Available for puppies between 8-20 weeks to give them an early introduction to the training concepts they will see as they grow. Pups will be introduced to feathers, clipped wing pigeons, gunfire and water. They will be socialized with humans and other dogs and groundwork will be put in place for future training. Puppy Head Start is $250.00 per month up until they are 20 weeks of age.
